Royal Park Transport Assessment

We have been invited to attend the Friends of Royal Park meeting when Sam Cremean will talk about the study the City of Melbourne is undertaking of all the transport modes in and around the park.

The Royal Park Transport Assessment will be a technical report, exploring current and forecasting future people movement and visitation in all modes of transport to Royal Park. It will provide evidence (including, but not limited to, data collection and analysis), best practice examples and a framework for decision making and will be used to inform policy, management and future improvements to the park.

A Poem for our Park…..

If in New York the cry would be

Leave our park alone; it belongs to me.

We seem so lax and careless too

In stopping developers from what they would do.

This amazing space that is Royal Park

Must be saved from intentions dark.

Our forebears had vision, they set aside

this great open space; acclaimed with pride.

But each development project whatever its worth

Willingly claims this supposed free earth.

But parkland is priceless; of value so great

We must stand up to secure its fate.

Use your park; join a group; speak up for its future

Remember our lives are inextricably linked to open space and nature.

……with thanks to Anne Phefley
