If in New York the cry would be
Leave our park alone; it belongs to me.
We seem so lax and careless too
In stopping developers from what they would do.
This amazing space that is Royal Park
Must be saved from intentions dark.
Our forebears had vision, they set aside
this great open space; acclaimed with pride.
But each development project whatever its worth
Willingly claims this supposed free earth.
But parkland is priceless; of value so great
We must stand up to secure its fate.
Use your park; join a group; speak up for its future
Remember our lives are inextricably linked to open space and nature.
